Scholarships for University of Bonn Argelander Details
The goal of this financing line is to expand and strengthen partnerships between Bonn scientists and their counterparts in the aforementioned locations, particularly with regard to early-career researcher promotion.
A formal or informal collaboration agreement between the doctorate candidate’s home institute and the host institute in Bonn should already be in place at the time the application is submitted. Applicants are the researchers at Bonn who serve as hosts.

Required Qualifications
- International doctoral applicants who wish to study in a university or research facility in Africa, Latin America, or Asia are given preference.
- Funding is not available to doctoral applicants who are already enrolled at the University of Bonn to pursue their PhD.
- Fundee recipients ought to complete their doctorates at their original university in order to prevent brain drain.
Benefits of Award
University of Bonn Argelander Scholarships 2024 will cover the following expenses:
- A reimbursement for travel (based on the country of origin)
- A monthly stipend of €1,500 (with additional funding of up to €300 for a spouse and €250 for each kid) for accompanying family members
