Islamabad United Won The Title for 3rd time: Beating Multan Sultans in the Final of HBL PSL 9
Islamabad United Won the title of HBL PSL 9 for 3rd time in Karachi by beating Multan Sultans on two wickets. United won the first edition of the Pakistan Super League in 2016, and the third edition in 2018 under the captaincy of legendary Misbah-ul-Haq. After 2018 Islamabad United struggled to qualify for the final, but this time in 2024 it happened they qualified for the final and snatched the trophy from Multan Sultans.
Multan Sultans become the first team in Pakistan Super League history to consistently lose the final three times. Multan Sultans won the trophy in 2021 and then lost to Lahore Qalandars in 2022 and 2023 and now to Islamabad United Yesterday in Karachi.

Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bat first. Multan Sultans was 128-8 and the spectacular inning by Iftikhar Ahmad led them to 160 targets.
