The UK government has introduced a new UK Government International Sportsperson Visa policy for all internationally established professional sportsmen, Athletes, and Coaches who will contribute to the development of their sport in the UK. All International Sportsperson who wants to settle in the UK for 3 years or settle permanently is encouraged to apply for the UK Government Sportsperson Visa.
Who is Eligible for a UK Government International Sportsperson Visa
To Apply for a UK government sportsperson visa, you must have:
- Certificate of Sponsorship from your employer
- You must prove that you are fully understand and speak English
- You have a record of your previous 5 years’ travel history
- You must have enough personal savings to support yourself after arriving in the UK
- Valid medical fitness certificate
- At least £1270 in your Bank account to show that you can support yourself
Documents required for UK Government International Sportsperson Visa
- Valid passport or ID card
- Letter of endorsement from your sport governing body
- Certificate of sponsorship from your employer
- Proof of English Language
- Evidence of finance e.g. Bank statement
- Translation of Documents if they are not in English

Absolutely your children and partner can also join you if they are eligible:
You will need to provide evidence of your relationship. They must have a certain amount of money to support themselves.

- Your child over 18 dependents on you currently
How long can I stay?
- Your visa can last up to 3 years
- After 5 years you can settle permanently in the UK if you have at least one visa longer than 12 months.
